Description
Describes how Tashima is "still out here on the West Coast getting no where," stating that the War Relocation Authority needs to do more public relations work on the West Coast to prepare the general public for the resettlement; that it is too early for the resettlement, especially for the Isseis, without this effort; and that some Isseis have become discouraged and have sought to re-enter centers. Tashima further states that the War Relocation Authority regional offices must do everything they can to help people who have newly resettled to obtain housing and jobs; that various factors including a refusal to hire Japanese workers have impeded employment as gardeners; that he would like employment with the government helping with the relocation efforts; and that perhaps Nisei could help . Tashima requests that McFarling keep his comments confidential and that he continue to help incarcerees as in the past.
This collection contains materials generated by J. Ralph McFarling, a Community Analyst for the War Relocation Authority, documenting the Amache Concentration Camp in Granada, Colorado where Japanese-Americans were incarcerated during World War II.
