Photograph caption dated August 12, 1957 reads, "And not a drop to drink - Some 11,000,000 gallons of Burbank water is hidden from view as 22 inches of soil and landscaping cover city's newest reservoir. Small pumping station, left, is only telltale structure at new Palm drive and Sunset Canyon drive facility. Burbank's total water consumption last month averaged 30,561,639 gallons per day, a new all-time record."
