Description
The library was funded by a $7,500 grant from Andrew Carnegie. The original architect, W. E. Kleinpell, designed this Spanish style building, which opened in 1915. It served the Eagle Rock Public Library from 1915-1923, then as a branch of the Los Angeles Public Library from 1923 to 1981 (now located at 5027 Caspar Avenue). In 1927, the building underwent an extensive remodel designed by Newton & Murray. Its current use is as the Eagle Rock Community Cultural Center.
