Title supplied by cataloger. Abbotsford Inn was converted into a hotel by Abbot Kinney, best known as the developer of Venice. The building, designed by Robert B. Young, was erected in 1887 by D. W. Hanna as Los Angeles College or Hanna College. After the college failed, Kinney took it over. Children pose on the steps outside of the First English Lutheran Church of Los Angeles, located at 800 S. Flower Street , shown before the streets were paved. A partial view of the Abbotsford Inn can be seen behind the church on the left.
