Photograph article dated January 6, 1961 reads, "The white lines on Woodman avenue between Saticoy and Cantara streets in Panorama City look like regular lane-divider lines, but in the past, when motorists turned left to enter side street, they discovered they were driving up a curb and down a four-foot drop. The optical illusion has been helped now by the construction of white barricade at three intersections. The mirage is gone, but the memory lingers on."
