Description
Used in the Exhibit: Play by Play - A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1889-1989
Carroll Shelby gets a kiss from his wife after yet another victory. Driver, owner, manufacturer--there was nothing that Shelby didn't do. In 1962, after the chicken farmer from Texas had moved to southern California, he started Venice-based Shelby American and teamed with Ford to produce one of the most legendary race cars: the Cobra. Photo dated: February 28, 1956.
