Description
Membership card for the USO Hostess Organization. The USO Club, which catered to locally stationed and returning US troops, was open from July 1942 to January 1946. The Club was located at the old school on Elm Avenue (currently the San Bruno Park School District offices) and run by Mrs. Helen Pinkerton. USO Clubs were staffed by Hostesses and Junior Hostesses. These were local women who would volunteer to organize dances and other activities, run the Club's canteen and library, gather donations and keep the Club running smoothly.
