Image of the 1st Division New York State Artillery Regiment assembled on horseback near the harbor in New York City; ships visible past buildings in background; American bald eagle with Union shield, olive branch, and bunch of arrows over a cluster of flags, sword, and bugle at bottom center.
"Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1844 by F. J. Fritsch in the Clerk's Office of the district court of the southern district of New York."--text, bottom center margin. "Drawn from nature and pub. by F. J. Fritsch."--text, bottom left margin. "Morris Cadets, Hussars - German, Lafayette, Montgomery, Washington and Brooklyn Horse Guards - National G. and Washington Greys Troop, Horse Artillery, Lancers."--text, bottom margin.
