Photograph of the Indian basket collection of Miss Kate Mabley, Pasadena, on display, ca.1905. About 30 baskets sit on 3 cloth-covered tiers. Decorative woven cloths are draped across the tiers at right. The baskets come from Indians in California and Arizona. These are rare examples of the art. The designs embody the religious beliefs, myths, family histories, etc. of the makers.
