Title supplied by cataloger. L.A. Deputy Sheriff Richard Gurr (left) stands with Japanese diplomat Nobuyuki Ohtera, the grateful father of two-year-old accident victim, Yurika Ohtera. Gurr and fellow Deputy, Michael Miller, were on a routine patrol flight when they heard radio reports of a possible child drowning. They rushed to the scene, about 10 miles away, landing in a Hacienda Heights neighborhood and ran to the house where they were met by the child's mother who led them to the girl. Gurr administered CPR to the young victim who had fallen into the family's swimming pool spa. She was soon revived and taken by paramedics to Whittier Medical Center where she was reported to be in stable condition. Photograph dated August 5, 1988.
