Photograph dated January 11, 1949 was used for an article dated February 23, 1950; article partially reads, "The instrument--440 years old--is valued at $100,000! Vladimir Lenski, North Hollywood music teacher and former concert violinist, is the owner...Lenski acquired the instrument during the latter 1800s when he played a concert in St. Petersburg, Russia. In the audience was Prince Nicholas Vousoupoff, member of the Russian royal family under Czar Nicholas II. Lenski was 12 years old at the time. The prince was so impressed by the young musician's talent that he presented the violin to him as a gift. The Valleyite says the instrument was carved in 1510 by Gaspard Duifforpruggar, royal instrument maker for King Francis I of France." Pictured, left to right, are Patrick Miller, Vladimir Lenski and Danny Johnson.; See images #00129962 through #00129963 for all photos in this series.
