Description
Photograph of woman factory worker sorting wrapped candy at a table, ca.1940. At center, a woman can be seen sitting on a small stool at a sorting table. The woman is wearing a long, lightly-colored dress which appears casual with large buttons down its center. The woman wears a large black belt around her waist, and an open cap with an attached visor can be seen on her head. One of the woman's hands can be seen hovering above a large group of candy. The candy is covered in shiny foil and appears to be the same shape as candy kisses. Behind the candy on the tray, a large machine can be seen. A small metal tray is seen next to the woman's right hand, and a large wooden crate is visible beside her. In the extreme background, four other workers. One of the female workers looks into the camera. Small boxes and crates can be seen adjacent to many of the workers.
