A mob of 1500 broke into the Tijuana Federal building in an attempt to seize a suspect in the attack-murder of an 8-year old girl. They set fire to the building and also the city jail, where they thought the slayer, along with four other men held for questioning, was jailed. After starting the fire, the mob battled federal and state troops to prevent them quelling the blaze. Photograph dated February 15, 1938.
