Description
The Fremont Presbyterian Church at 15th and O streets is shown in this photograph taken between 1920 and 1923. Due to a wiring defect, the church was destroyed by a morning fire on Sept. 23, 1923. The first witness to the fire, paperboy W.J. Howie, alerted authorities by running directly to the home of Fire Chief M.J. Dunphy. The church was soon relocated to 36th and J streets.
