Description
Photograph of Padre Caciques, Governor Eusebius, and the Acoma Indian Council at the Acoma Pueblo, ca.1900. Five men can be seen sitting on the bench, while three others sit on the ground in front. They can be seen dressed wearing various long-sleeved shirts and trousers. Two men wear three-piece suits. One of these men is a white man with glasses wearing a kerchief around his neck, and can be seen sitting in the middle of the bench, while the other man (the Padre?) sits on the right wearing two rosaries with crucifixes around his neck. The Governor is second from left on the bench. The wall of an adobe building is visible behind the group. A board is nailed across a window at center.
