Showing Sacramento's horse-drawn Police Patrol. Wagon was built around 1895, served as Police transportation and city ambulance until 1907. Nicknamed "The Black Maria." Brick structure in background erected in 1854 to house City Jail, a court room, various city offices, City Water Works. In 1857, taken over exclusively by Police Department with construction of new City Hall at 4th and J.
