Description
Owen Moore in "Modern Matrimony", a vaudeville act, is playing at the State Theatre at 104 East Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach in this view of the theater's ornate entrance. Posters advertising the various vaudeville acts are on display around the ticket booth.; The building that housed the State Theatre was the Jergins Trust Building, originally called the Markwell Building. The architects were Harvey Lochridge and Kirkland Cutter. The theater and six story office building were completed in 1919. The building also contained the Long Beach Municipal Court offices until a separate court building was built in 1960. An underground walkway went from the north side of Ocean Blvd., under the building, to an underground arcade beneath the theater.
