Description
Williams (left) and an officer identified as Major Hanies pose with a roadside sign reading "This is where it is, 38.00'00" North Latitude, Survey Controlled by the 1st Field Artillery Observation Battalion." The 38th parallel divides the Korean peninsula into it's northern and southern halves, and essentially marked the frontline during the stalemate period that encompassed 1952. Associated Photographer's Caption Data Sheet reads: "Date: 23 June '52, Photographic Laboratory: 226th Signal Service Co., Photographer: Pvt. Hanson Williams, Who: Left. Pvt.
