Photograph article dated January 17, 1963 partially reads, "9 p.m. - Broad Jump: Ralph Boston has couple of 16-2 jumps to his credit already this year in practice. The Tennessee State jumper is now living in Los Angeles, and should have little trouble in this field." Photograph caption reads, "Ralph Boston's the man to beat. He is shown at the AAU finals at Walnut." Ralph Boston was a three-time Olympic medal winner. In 1960, he broke the long jump record Jesse Owens held for 25 years.
