Parents at both Wilbur Avenue School, Tarzana, and Collier Street School, Woodland Hills, are trying a positive approach to the problem. "Saying we want to get rid of half-fay sessions isn't enough," says Mrs. Robert Brandt, co-chairman of the Collier Street PTA's school education committee. Both schools have four half-day sessions. Both are in a neighborhood which has a rapidly increasing young population and rising construction of new homes." Mrs. John Melideo greets Collier PTA survey takers. Mmes. Shragg, Pitney and Brandt begin door-to-door survey on school needs.
