Description
A receipt for stationary goods purchased by the Masonic Union Lodge from the Dougliss and Dale music and toy store. Richard Dale and Dan H. Dougliss went into business an opened a music and toy store in Sacramento in 1853 and were able to open their store at 155 J street in January 1854. In 1857, Dougliss sold his interest in the business to Dale and moved to New York before passing away in 1870. Dale renamed the business to be Dale and Company and operated at 155 until 1861, when it moved to a larger space at 627 J street the business was in operation until its closure in 1890. Richard Dale died at the age of 76 on January 26th, 1901.
