Teltmissionen (fra 1937 Dansk Pathanmission). Mardan Kirke i Peshawar distrikt, NWFP, blev bygget fra 1936 og indviet 1. april 1939 til den lille pathanske menighed i området. Pastor Jens Christensen havde uddannet en lokal ung mand, Taib, i teologi. Han var ordineret 3. april 1938 og blev nu menighedens præst. Med til etableringen af kirken hørte også, at Jens Christensen fik skrevet en kirkeforfatning, oversat dele af Ny Testamente, samt oversat/digtet salmer til pashto. Desuden blev der sat et børne- og skolearbejde i gang af den nyligt ansatte sygeplejerske, Karen Friis Nielsen

Description
The Tent Mission (from 1937 Danish Pathan Mission). Mardan Church in Peshawar District, NWFP, was built from 1936 and consecrated 1st April 1939 as church building of the small Pathan congregation of the area. Rev. Jens Christensen had educated a local young man, Taib, in theology. He was ordained 3rd April 1938, and became pastor of the congregation. Following establishment of the church, Rev. Jens Christensen promoted writing of a Church Constitution, translated parts of the New Testament as well as hymns, etc., to Pashto. Also, the recently arrived Missionary Nurse, Karen Friis Nielsen, started a children- and school work.
