Photograph caption dated May 17, 1962 reads, "Mrs. Myrtle Hinssinger, clerk at Sharp Avenue School, Pacoima, happily holds a check for $1,000 presented by the Los Angeles City Schools Employes [sic] Suggestion Plan for her idea which saves the school district a reported $14,000 annually. Mrs. Hinssinger streamlined emergency information forms which pupils must take home to their parents, reducing by 6,000 hours a year necessary clerical time."
