Description
Fred Underwood, shown with his neighbors of the 500 block on South Wilton Place, staged a "sit-down" demonstration against the Los Angeles Transit Lines crews. The crews were seeking to erect poles for a trackless trolley "loop" down the street. The neighbors complained, "There is no reason why the Los Angeles Transit Lines has to mar the appearance of our street."
