Description
Alfredo Véa discusses his novel, “Gods Go Begging.” He begins by explaining the plot of the novel, which follows the character Jesse Pasadoble. Jesse is a Vietnam veteran who now works in San Francisco as a defense attorney. Jesse is haunted by his memories of his experiences in Vietnam. When he is assigned to defend a gangster in a mysterious double homicide the case leads him deep into the culture of the San Francisco housing projects and the Vietnamese mob. Véa goes on to discuss his own memories and opinions of the Vietnam War. He shares his writing process and how his experiences in Vietnam have influenced both his life and work.
