Title supplied by cataloger. Juanita Goldberg left instructions for a neighboor woman to watch her baby when she went to a nearby laundromat. The baby was asleep in apartment when a fire broke out. A truck driver passing by stopped, smashed the door in, pulled the baby from the fire and handed the baby to a neighbor then left without a word. Later the truck driver came forward, he was Blas Saenz. See photograph 00085575 for image of Juanita Goldberg and baby. Photograph caption dated November 18, 1959 reads, "Modest Hero 'Confesses' -- Blas Saenz, 33, truck driver of Pico Rivera, modestly admitted he was man who crashed door and helped rescue 10-month-old boy, David Goldberg, from burning apartment at 11343 Martha St. Boy is son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goldberg."
