Description
"Grinnell Co. crew installing automatic sprinklers at California Packing Corp. (Del Monte) Plant #3 of San Jose California, Father-in-law A. M. Kezer Foreman on left side." All identified from left: A. M. Kezer, Harry M. Arnold, V. Robbins, Fred Anderson, John Hopkins, Ed Marshall, W. Lewis, W. Dunton, E. H. Sinclair, A. Siebert, John Macharley, A. Lewis, John Mohnaly, W. Dunton, P. Hofmann, W. Ginger (sp)." Plant #3 was located at 801 Auzerais Avenue near downtown San Jose. The California Packing Corp. expanded and modernized the facilities at Plant #3 between 1917 and 1941. California Packing Corporation sold its products under a number of proprietary and distributive labels, including their premium brand, Del Monte. In June 1967, the company name was officially changed to the Del Monte Corporation.
