On back: "San Jose terminal of the San Francisco & San Jose Railroad in 1864 showing the buildings on San Pedro Street. First building on the right is the engine house. Just beyond is the station and ticket office. Building on left is hotel." The following text was taken from an original image in the collection of William A. Wulf: "Looking eastward at the San Jose depot, located at San Pedro and Bassett Streets, on the route of the SF & SJ RR. Also on the right is the 'gallows' turntable and engine house beyond. The building on the left is the freight house. The locomotive is no. 2, the 'San Jose'. Photo taken in 1864."
