In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. B, leaf 44.
Bird's eye view; in left corner is a brick wall with objects laid on top - the wall cuts the corner; a building in construction can be seen below; perpendicular to brick wall on left are three structures; in front of construction site is a flooded street parallel to bottom of photo; corner of street is also flooded; a grid of blocks with structures and vacant lots can be seen into the distance.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"Old Court House, shown on the extreme left of picture. Old Sacramento Swimming Baths, on Kay street, between 10th & 11th street. Perry's Seminary, on I street, between 10th & 11th .erected in 1863."
