Photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on June 22, 1972 states: "Surrounded by flood water, the delta community of Isleton was today becoming a town with no people. Evacuation of citizens began this morning when officials feared the hastily constructed levee would collapse against the force of thousands of tons of flood water. . . ."
