Description
In this letter, Kean writes on the behalf of "my friend Chippendale" who "is very anxious to become a member of Drury Lane Theatre." The letter is addressed to Robert William Elliston of that same theatre. The letter has been inset onto a sturdier paper with a red and green border. On the reverse side of the letter, a square has been cut away, likely to remove a wax seal.
