Description
This is a 1975 recorded interview of Charles McGimsey, member of the Dixon May Fair Panel. He discusses the history of the May Fair and his involvement with the event. The Dixon May Fair and Parade is California's oldest event of its kind. The first Dixon May Day celebration was in 1875 and included horse races. The first Dixon May Fair was in 1885 and the first May Day Parade in 1909. It has continued annually to the present day.
