This structure, located at 919 1st Street, later became a municipal courthouse for the City of San Fernando. Photograph caption dated March 17, 1959 reads, "That familiar 'shaggy dog' appearance of San Fernando's County Courthouse at Macneil and First streets has done a fade out, thanks to Los Angeles County maintenance crews. Pepper trees that hid handsome features and proved troublesome to photographers have been removed. Above is view of $250,000 branch courthouse as it appears for the first time since it was dedicated seven years ago without its camouflage."
