Description
Bust-length portrait, signed by Anne Kennedy.
Born in Texas to Eugene B. and Melvina (Jones) de Lartigue in 1875. Married John F. Kennedy in 1901. Her family came to California in the 1880's. She wrote poetry and articles, contributing to the Overland Monthly. Worked with the newspaper, "Manila American" (husband was half owner) in Manila. Traveled, including being the first woman to cover the boundaries of the United States by car, public speaker. Died in 1964 in Santa Rosa.
