Description
Frances Welch and Dr. Peterson skating at Yosemite. Dr. Peterson has on high top skates, pants tucked in, jacket, gloves, hat and vest. Frances has long coat, scarf, hat, gloves, pants tucked in long socks and skates. Written on back: "Frances and Dr Peterson, Xmas 1922, Yosemite". Photo is one of several found in an envelope from Welch family labeled: "Snaps of stays in Yosemite -- Summer 1919 Xmas 1922 -- J.R., Mrs., Frances & Ione spent almost a week at the Sentinal Hotel on the Merced River. It was the first time Yosemite was open to the public in the winter. Train from S. J. to Merced, & to El Portal - then truck-like heavy bus on to the Hotel."
