Title supplied by cataloger. A man sitting on the driver's side of this bookmobile appears to be holding his car keys outside of the open window. This "traveling branch" bookmobile parked along Grand Avenue was actually a New York Public Library Bookmobile, which participated in the 1930 American Library Association convention held at the Los Angeles Public Library's Central Library. This photo was taken on Grand Avenue,, looking toward 5th Street with the Engstrum Hotel Apts. visible in the background along with the Edison Building which was under construction.
