Description
Two women and a little girl are depicted on a columned veranda. The woman on the left wears her hair up and carries a red shawl with gold fringe on her right arm. Her dress is a light turquoise and has a v-neck with long bell sleeves and the elaborate detailing at the back of the fashionable bustled silhouette. The bodice and sleeves are edged in white lace and lines of flowers trim the bodice and skirt. The skirt has a train and is edged with a wide ruffled flounce. The little girl wears a white hat with pink accents. Her dress is white with pink ribbons and bows. Her skirt is pink and white striped. She wears pink slippers with straps, and white stockings. The woman on the right wears a straw hat with black ribbon and a light gauzy brown veil which blows back across her neck. She carries a light pink ruffled parasol in her right hand. Her dress is light blue trimmed with tan stripes on the sleeves, bodice, and skirt, with a black underskirt. Black bands trim the neck and skirt, and black bows accent her sleeves at the elbow and wrist. The skirt has the elaborate back detailing of the fashionable bustled silhouette. Her sleeves and collar are edged in white lace. She wears tan gloves. Behind the group is a view of a headland, and the ocean with three boats.
