Los Angeles based Weber Showcase & Fixture Co., Inc. manufactured the desks, furniture and shelving and installed them at the fourth San Pedro Branch Library built in 1949. The large desk shown in the center was used for circulation services. According to a May 1, 1949 article in the Los Angeles Times, the building contained "soft green" walls with "blond oak furniture and shelves". The furniture was placed on "rubber interlocking block flooring", visible throughout the image.
