Description
"The Devil in the Road" signed and dated by Cooper on 02/19/1914 San Jose Ca Rough drawing of a man on horseback coming across a dead (?) donkey in the middle of the road. The man and horse seem startled by this encounter. The donkey is on it's back with it's legs sticking up in the air. Some shading, mostly lines and scribbles.
