Plates in: Southern Pacific Lines : agricultural & horticultural, pg. [13]. 2016-3142. Shows grove of bamboo (C. R. Bambusa No. 2). William S. Tevis' residence, Los Portales, Stockdale. Was Vice President of Kern County Land Company. Pacific Garden article (Aug. 1908, pg. 10-12), "Bamboos in California," mentions the Tevis estate near Bakersfield as the only place author (Dr. F. Francheschi) had seen this species of bamboo.
