Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated May 10, 1962 reads, "Firemen hoist Raul Schcalncak, 21, of La Puente, up on a stretcher after the construction worker was completely covered by dirt Wednesday night when a storm drain collapsed at Veteran Ave. and Wilshire Blvd. in West Los Angeles. Schcalncak's partner, Jose A. Martinez, 36, of Los Angeles, was also buried in the cave-in. Both men, however, received only bruises and were taken to UCLA Medical Center for emergency treatment. Schcalncak was later released."
