Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Shell Oil Company, ca.1940. A man manipulates machinery underneath hick pipes which extend over the foreground between two opposing metal frames while a large, frame-like structure of the company stands at center behind them. Two thick cylinders with platforms at their tops stand along the front of the skeletal, concrete structure behind them with walled structures to either side. The machinery and staircases within the building are exposed and several employees can be seen in the interior. Behind the building on the right stands a taller cylinder with a platform at its top.
