Reagan discusses his thoughts on the Vice President nominees to his friends in the California delegation. To my friends in the California delegation; I have learned of your concern about whether I would or would not accept the nomination for V.P. on the Ford ticket if he should be the nominee for Pres.
I thought I had made this clear—evidently I hadn’t. Here is my reply as plainly as I can say it.
There is no circumstance whatsoever under which I would accept the nomination for V.P. That is absolutely final.

This collection was transferred to Pepperdine Libraries Special Collections and Archives in 2016 from the Pepperdine School of Law, where it had been stored (presumably) since Margaret Brock's death in 1997. A second accession of materials was found in the Margaret Brock Conference Room in 2017 and subsequently transferred to Special Collections.
