Description
Image appeared in the Salinas Californian on August 4, 1973 in "New book tells the story of Monterey County's own mother load." Caption to the illustration read: Jolon's Dutton Hotel as it appeared in the late 1800s, when it was an important meeting place and stage stop. Known as the Jolon Inn, it also catered to many of the miners, for Jolon was the jumping-off point for the Los Buros Mining District. Today, only a few piles of crumbling adobe remain. But plans are being made to restore the old building, to house a museum for historical memorabilia. Image printed from a metal plate. Image is owned by the Salinas Californian, contact the newspaper for use.
