Photograph caption reads: "Those persistent nude bathers (and others) at Pirate's Cove Beach were given some peace of mind yesterday when officials determined that a crack in the cliff above the beach ... was an immediate hazard and blew it up ... The end result ... [is] safe access to the cove. The area is a popular nude sunbathing spot in the Malibu area. Geologists were called to the cliffs to inspect the 14-by-10 foot-long crack and after clearing the beach, blew it up with 175 pounds of dynamite. A sheriff's department spokesman said that the property is in the process of being bought by the state".
