Photograph caption dated November 24, 1959 reads, "Shooting in Pacoima -- Hospital attendants roll shooting victim Eugene Thomas, 28, from Pacoima house at 10974 Haddon Ave., at left, as police take shooting suspect James Brown, right, into custody. Witness related that Thomas was trying to wrestle loaded gun away from Brown when it went off, wounding Thomas in chest. He was rushed to Sun Valley Receiving Hospital."
