Description
Image of children dressed in sailor and naval outfits rowing a rowboat labeled the "H.M.S. Pinafore" in the ocean with ships in the background; the poster advertises the comic opera "H.M.S. Pinafore" by Arthur Sullivan and W. S. Gilbert as performed by children as part of "Murphy's Miniature Opera Pinafore"; poster verso contains four pasted clippings consisting of two clippings of the text "Fun," a caricature of a man about to hit another man with the caption "And Don't You Forget It," and an image of a rooster.
Margins trimmed on local copy; probable date based on general show history; a children's version of HMS Pinafore was produced by Joseph D. Murphy around 1879.
