View of a street with a group of ramshackle wooden buildings; in the middle of the street is an alley way which opens up to reveal another structure in the back with a model T parked to the right of the alley; across top of alley is a sign structure with only the frame remaining; a man in top hat walks by on right side and a three light lamp post is on right of the alley; one story structures flank the alley and these in turn are flanked by one story buildings with taller top sections.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
