"The great king Bhātikatissa [140-164 CE] gave to the Kantaka-cētiya the revenues from the land and the water taxes of Kabavika tank. The great king Māhādātika Mahānāga [9-21 CE] having purchased Balayatha-Gamakavi tank gave to the Kantaka-cētiya the revenues from the land and water taxes." The script is Brahmi and the language "old SInhala." --Department of Archaeology Ministry of National Heritage and Culture
