Photograph caption dated February 13, 1956 reads, "Jean Gaertner, left, of Los Angeles, who shared high point honors with Dixie Griffin in yesterday's junior women's track and field meet at Valley Junior College, is checking over winning height in the high jump with North Hollywood's Joyce Le Roy, who was second in the event. Miss Gaertner's blue-ribbon effort of four feet, 10 inches is a new meet record." Los Angeles Valley College is in Van Nuys.
